Georgia the Country

We had a nice time exploring Georgia and lodging in homestays, which is basically inside a person’s home. Our first stay was quaint and just my style. Mismatched plates, floral wallpapers, scattered icons and splashes of blue. One of my favorite aspects of the country is its rich history and faith in Orthodoxy. Churches seem to be open all day and welcoming to the public. Priests roam the city, and can be found in the courtyards of churches, speaking with parishioners and youth. Pedestrians passing churches often pause to cross themselves, unashamed of displaying their faith. The churches and monasteries are filled with stories and relics of saints. Candles are lit, prayers whispered.
