It’s official. I love coffee. One cup each morning. To keep hydrated, it’s important to drink one cup of water for every cup of coffee. In addition to this, we can add a mini-cleanse each morning of water and 1/2 a lemon. I first read about this in the book, “The Aesthetic of Love,” by Mother Gavrilia, who traveled around the world helping others and started each day with a glass of water, lemon and honey. I then heard about it from a dietician and most recently, fitness expert, Denise Austin.
Lemon is an antioxidant that cleanses the liver, fights infection, helps digestion and gives your skin a glow, amongst other things. *Tip: Drink with a straw and brush your teeth immediately after. I prefer Meyer lemons and room-temperature water so that I can drink it fast.
