Women Hold Up Half the Sky

Remember when I wrote about the book called ”Half the Sky” here? Well, over my winter break we visited the “Women Hold Up Half the Sky” exhibition at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles. It was definitely my type of exhibition- Interactive with film, media, photography, donating, letter writing, music, social entrepreneurship and girl’s advocacy.

short letters you can write to girls in need

It takes you through different issues and challenges that women are facing all over the world such as trafficking, slavery, healthcare and oppression. It reaffirmed the importance of educating girls and supporting grassroots organizations and made me want to expand my own work with Lucky Girls to reach more girls and involve more people in our endeavors for change.  If you live in Los Angeles, I highly recommend visiting and getting involved!
